COLOLO
1bit Signal Communication with Vibrating Device

We propose a 1-bit communication network by a simple action with a unique mobile-size interface, COLOLO, which enables a simple and seamless remote interaction for general to toddler, elderly and disabled people in distant places. By using this interface, people can not only feel the communication partner closer through the lights, movement and vibration, but also to feel a sense of connectedness by a user's active action. The emergence of a new human-human interaction will rise up with the developed interface through a simple signal communication.

These spherical object, COLOLO, has several sensors, motor, LED and wireless modules, which communicate with each other via internet. When a user touches an object, this action is transmitted to another COLOLO the other side of the network and it causes a rolloing movement.

We consider that a fundamental factor of communication among humans is a transmission and reception of "some kind of intent." As well as Feellight, this 1 bit signal communication scheme is extended to physical actions. We aim to realize a flexible communication by limited information as small as possible.
